Municipal District of Bonnyville Media Release
Bridge replacement will affect access to M.D. and provincial parks
Road estimated to be reopened before start of camping season
February 15, 2022 – Range Road 474 will be closed at Highway 660 by the end of February as contractors begin to replace the Thinlake River Bridge.
Located just south of the range road and highway intersection, the bridge is a popular spot for fishing in the summer. It is also the access point for many Moose Lake camps and parks, including Franchere Bay Provincial Recreation Area and the M.D.’s Pelican Point campground. Once the work begins, access to these parks will only be possible by travelling north on Rge. Rd. 474 from Hwy. 28.
Work is expected to begin by February 28. The project’s estimated completion date is April 30, just in time for camping season. Updates to the road closure will be made on the M.D.’s social media platforms and website.
