UPDATED JULY 15, 2021 — After a meeting with contractors, reservations are now open up to and including September 6, when the park will close for the season.
UPDATED March 29, 2021 — The expansion of the Cold Lake M.D. campground will result in the park opening a week later than all other M.D. parks, and closing at least a week earlier. The camping season at the campground has been updated to May 20 to September 6. At this time, reservations can only be made up until July 18, as Parks staff and the contractor can determine how construction and road building work will affect access to some sites. It is expected that portions of the M.D. Park will open for campsite reservations in mid-July.

Cold Lake Campground Expansion Project continuing in 2021
March 17, 2021 — The phased expansion of the Municipal District of Bonnyville’s Cold Lake M.D. Campground is ongoing, and will continue through the camping season.
The park is currently closed to all outside visitors, with the exception of construction crews. The campground will open on May 14 for the 2021 camping season.
“While we will be doing everything we can to minimize the impact of construction on their stay at the park, visitors should expect there to be noise and dust during the day at the campground this season,” says Parks Manager, Rodney Guilbault. “There will be heavy equipment working. The construction site will be cordoned off for visitor safety. The overflow camping area will be closed this summer, and the expansion may affect the availability of some sites.”
Phase I of the project includes the installation of waterlines and other services for the expanded park, which will see 74 new sites added. Phase II, which is scheduled to begin this year, will include installing electrical services, creating a road loop system, and building up the new sites. Phase III will include paving the main access road and adding finishing touches to the campground.
Updates will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and our online reservation system.
