[ARCHIVED] Regional Crime Forum Being Held December 1

The Municipal District of Bonnyville is hosting a Regional Crime Forum on Friday, December 1 at the Bonnyville Senior Citizens’ Drop-In Centre’s Pioneer Room (4813-47 Avenue) from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
M.D. Council is inviting area residents to be a part of the discussions regarding crime issues facing the region and some of the solutions that can be implemented to prevent and reduce the offences.
Reeve Greg Sawchuk says “M.D. Council has chosen to take the lead and organize a Regional Crime Forum. Council is well aware that this meeting will not solve the crime issue, but we hope to inform the public and to initiate solutions. Input from our residents will help us define our lobbying efforts.”
Panel members at the forum include MLA Scott Cyr, Town of Bonnyville Mayor Gene Sobolewski, City of Cold Lake Council representatives, RCMP members from the Cold Lake and Bonnyville detachments, M.D. Public Safety Director Chris Garner and representatives from local Crime Watch organizations.
The public will be given the opportunity to ask questions of panel members and to voice their concerns. Light refreshments will be served.
