From May 29 to June 23, 4 Wing Cold Lake will host a variety of international air force personnel and equipment for Maple Flag 50.
This means a few things for M.D. residents. For those who live under the flight paths, there will be an increase in air traffic and noise over the next month, from Monday to Saturday. For anyone travelling to or through the base, there will be increased security at both the front and back gates.
And for aircraft enthusiasts, this means the Maple Flag Open House on June 17. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the public is invited to the Medley Terminal to check out some of the planes involved with the exercise.
