#1 Planning and Development Decisions – Council approved a subdivision application which will see the consolidation of a 10-acre parcel into the Agricultural quarter section, with another 10-acre parcel — located in a different part of the quarter— subdivided.
Council approved a one-year extension for a subdivision application.
#2 Briefly – Council accepted a presentation from RC Strategies detailing the draft Intermunicipal Trails Master Plan as information. The plan will come back to a future meeting of Council to be adopted.
Council gave First Reading to Bylaw No. 1854 Amending Waste and Resource Recovery Management Bylaw. The proposed amendment will see the inclusion of a section outlining how community halls located in the M.D. can request waste disposal receptacles at no additional charge.
Council approved a request for the M.D. to host the 2024 Alberta CARE (Coordinated Action for Recycling Enterprises) conference. The fall event will see up to 160 attendees come to the region for the three-day conference.
Council adopted the updated Terms of Reference for the Rural Community Policing Committee. Updates include meeting eight times a year instead of monthly to allow for summer-break and last-minute scheduling changes, opening the chair position to all members instead of being restricted to an M.D. councillor, and other changes that will allow for more flexibility in the committee.
Council upheld an aggressive dog declaration and the associated requirements for the dog’s owners as issued by the Public Safety Department at the end of May.
Council gave First Reading to Bylaw No. 1853 – the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw.
Council received quarterly reports as information from several departments including Corporate Services, Infrastructure Services, and the CAO’s Office.
Council authorized an extended absence for Councillor Mike Krywiak, until further notice.
Council gave Second and Third Reading to Bylaw No. 1847 Amending Master Rates Bylaw.
#3 Council Invitation – Council approved a $1,000 sponsorship for the Clayton Bellamy Foundation of the Arts Golf event being held the first week in September.
