The Municipal District of Bonnyville is approximately two hours northeast of Edmonton on Highway 28, extending to the Saskatchewan border, and approximately 75 miles or 150 kms north of Lloydminster. The Bonnyville-Cold Lake region is accessed from primary Hwys. 41, 28, and 55.
Encompassing a large portion of northeastern Alberta, the M.D. of Bonnyville covers13,000 km2 or 3,215,00 acres, consisting of over three million acres of farmland and large expanses of natural parkland and lakes.
