Farm Fresh Food

Farm Fresh Food

In season, berries are ripe for the picking in the forests surrounding Bonnyville and Cold Lake. Nothing can compare to the taste of wild saskatoons and blueberries – you can eat them by the handful or fill several buckets. Wild raspberries and strawberries abound, but they are a little harder to find.

Farmer’s Markets

There are three farmer’s markets in the area, featuring an abundance of mouth-watering food.  Pack your bags with fresh produce, hand-picked berries and homemade tasty treats.

Bonnyville’s Farmer’s Markets are open year-round, on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Beaver River Fish and Game Building (4402-54 Ave.) and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre (4313-50 Ave.).

Cold Lake hosts a Farmer’s Market every Thursday from June 6 to September 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Exhibition Park (4608-38 Ave.). There are also three special Christmas markets on  December 5, 12 and 19.
